St Austin’s Players
Part of Wakefield Drama Festival 2017
By Arnold Ridley
A group of passengers are left stranded at a remote railway station, facing the prospect of a night in the waiting room, but when the old stationmaster warns them about a phantom train that haunts the tracks after dark, the evening takes one chilling turn after another.
A ghostly driver, sudden deaths and a travelling parrot make this 1920s thriller an unnervingly hilarious exploration of our capacity for belief in the supernatural.
Part of the 17th annual Wakefield Drama Festival, which takes place at Theatre Royal Wakefield with companies from across the North of England competing for a series of awards. Seven different companies will be judged by a professional adjudicator with awards presented at the end of the week. Seven night pass holders get to vote for their favourite in the Audience Award.
