By Nick Dear (based on Mary Shelley's gothic novel)
Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker.
Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.
A humane and intelligent retelling of the original story which looks at the process in which new life learns what it is to be human, moving from innocence to knowledge and from gratitude to violent revenge.
Part of the 17th annual Wakefield Drama Festival, which takes place at Theatre Royal Wakefield with companies from across the North of England competing for a series of awards. Seven different companies will be judged by a professional adjudicator with awards presented at the end of the week. Seven night pass holders get to vote for their favourite in the Audience Award.
