Guy Jones joins the local Operatic Society as a chorus member but works his way swiftly through the ranks to land the plum role of Macheath, in The Beggar's Opera. However, as the curtain comes down on an apparently triumphant performance, Guy is alone and broken. Then the clock rewinds several months and we see how it all went wrong!

Part of the 17th annual Wakefield Drama Festival, which takes place at Theatre Royal Wakefield with companies from across the North of England competing for a series of awards. Seven different companies will be judged by a professional adjudicator with awards presented at the end of the week. Seven night pass holders get to vote for their favourite in the Audience Award.
