News Story
Last Friday we hosted our annual Gala Performance to celebrate the 130 Year Anniversary of our amazing Theatre. Attendees were treated to a star-studded variety show, featuring acts from talented local dancers, singers and comedians.
We raised over £13,000 from ticket sales, raffle ticket purchases and silent auction bids. All money raised from the night will help fund the essential maintenance work we carry-out to preserve our Grade II* listed building, as well as allowing us to continue the vital work we do with the local community.
It was incredibly special that so many of our Gala performers were individuals who had begun their career on our stage. We saw performances from Performance Academy alumni, previous Wakefield Youth Music Theatre performers as well as those who began their career with us over 35 years ago. These performances, alongside those of our current Performance Academy students, acted as a powerful reminder of the inspiring training opportunities on offer at the Theatre.
Thank you to all that attended our performance, brought raffle tickets and bid in our silent auction. You have supported the theatres' work to inspire the next generation.
A huge thank you as well to our Gala performers who gave up their time to support the Theatre, as well as our staff and volunteer team who helped to make the performance possible.
