News Story
Our annual Golf Day is set to return for its fifth anniversary in 2021! The event will be taking place on Thursday 1 July at Normanton Golf Club.
For those of you that don’t know, since 2016, lovely Tim at Jolliffe Cork has helped us Theatre geeks – with very little golf knowledge – run a hugely successful Golf Day in order to raise money for our work with young people in the Wakefield district. Money raised from previous Golf Days has gone towards:
Performance Academy - a training programme for young people allowing them to develop their performance skills as well as providing them with the opportunity to perform in our Matcham Auditorium in their annual showcase or to audition for our highly anticipated Youth Musicals.
Chime - music making session for young people with learning disabilities. Chime provides a space for young people to learn the skills that are needed to create music using instruments and their voices.
Youth Musicals - every summer we hold a performance comprising of the best talent Wakefield has to offer! Previous performances include Our House, Les Misérables, and Sister Act. This year, we bring you Roger and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! (book your tickets now!)
The event starts with registration and bacon sandwiches from 12pm, teams getting out on sequence from 1pm and ending with a running buffet/prize giving.
