News Story
We have recently achieved the Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard, recognising the work we do with our wonderful volunteers.
Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for excellence in volunteer management. IiV aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and for organisations to acknowledge the enormous contribution made by volunteers.
Once we can re-open, our volunteers are vital to our operations at the Theatre. From the volunteers that attend our Conversation Café, who give their time to help participants to practise English over a cup of tea, to our Front of House Stewards, who meet and greet all of our audiences with a smile! Our volunteers are at the heart of our organisation, so it is wonderful to be able to recognise the invaluable work they do.

I am very proud to be a volunteer steward at Theatre Royal Wakefield. I am proud that we have achieved Investors in Volunteering status. I think it is very well deserved and serves to recognise the very hard work that the Theatre puts into looking after its volunteers and shows the trust paid by the Theatre to us and by us back to the Theatre.Sharon Shields – Volunteer Front of House Steward
