Yesterday we hosted our Heritage Open Day event! Our doors were open from 10am to 4pm for the public to come in and explore our building on an unusually show-less day.
Attendees got the chance to wander around our beautiful auditorium, learn more about our 130 year anniversary in our Heritage Exhibition and on our behind-the-scenes tours, and take part in fun activities for all the family.
We were also treated to amazing heritage-themed performances from Darren Johnson, as well as snippets from the performance that our Hatchling Community Ensemble curated for the arrival of the Hatchling dragon in Wakefield in August.
Although the event was free, there were opportunities to support the theatre by purchasing a tour ticket, donating to the Theatre or taking part in our tombolas. Thank you to everyone that supported the Theatre throughout the day. The sharings from our Hatchling Ensemble acted as a fantastic reminder of the community work that your money supports and the huge impact it can have on people in our local area.
Our Heritage Exhibition is still up in our Stalls Cafe, so why not drop in for a look during the interval when you're next in for a show?
