This week marks Refugee Week 2023!

Refugee Week is a national celebration of the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and asylum seekers. It aims to provide these individuals with a platform to share their own work and stories, whilst inviting everyone to listen and advance their understanding of the challenges faced by people who have been displaced.

As a Theatre of Sanctuary, we are proud to offer a place of welcome and safety for refugees and asylum seekers. We run free workshops, classes and Theatre visits as part of our year-round participation programme, designed to support and welcome asylum seekers and refugees.

This includes Wakey! Wakey!, our free drop in sessions filled with story-time and activities aimed at three and four year olds and families. These sessions offer the opportunity to practice English, make friends and have fun together!
