We are thrilled that one of our Wakefield Youth Music Theatre alumni will be returning to our stage with The John Godber Company for Ruby & the Vinyl. George Reid, who plays Tom, was in Miss Saigon in 2013 before going on to train at Guildford School of Acting.
George has performed at The Globe as well as touring Macbeth (UK) and Romeo & Juliet (Spain). We’re looking forward to seeing him perform on our stage after almost ten years of brilliant performing arts achievements.

Theatre Royal Wakefield was my local theatre growing up; it’s the place that inspired me to pursue acting. Little did 18-year-old me, think that 8 years after performing at the Royal Variety and in Miss Saigon, that I’d be back there treading the boards with the John Godber Company. This theatre has a special place in my heart and I’m so chuffed to be able to work in this beautiful theatre once again!George Reid (Tom)
Our annual Youth Music Theatre Production provides young people with the opportunity to perform in a professional, high-quality musical to audiences of over 4,000. The performances are hugely popular and celebrated year after year, whilst also providing invaluable experience to local children and young people.
As Theatre Royal Wakefield is a charity, this exciting experience is made possible by our generous community of donors and supporters. There are loads of ways you can support our work, including our training and opportunities for young people. Find out more here.
