GUYS AND DOLLS CAST INFO PACK

Take Part

Guys and Dolls Information Pack

Welcome to the cast of Guys and Dolls. I hope you have a brilliant experience working with us.

There is a great deal of information in this pack, so please read everything carefully. I have included all the rehearsal and performance dates. You will need to be present at every rehearsal to guarantee your place with the company.

We will need you to fill in a measurement form but this will be sent out to you separately at the end of April.

Please complete the relevant ‘Information and Permissions’ web form linked to below by Friday 09 May or let Janine know if you need the form sent as a Word document in good time for you to be able to return it by Friday 09 May.

Information and Permission form for LICENSED childrenThis form must be completed by the parent / guardian of all licensed children (anyone in the cast who is 15 or under up to and including 30 August 2025).

Information and Permission form for NON-LICENSED children and ADULTSThis form must be completed by the parent / guardian of all non-licensed children (anyone in the cast who is 16 or 17 up to and including 30 August 2025) OR by adult participants aged 18 and over.

Please note that it is important that you stick to your deadline for returning this information to us as, if you miss this deadline, we cannot guarantee your place in the company.

Fees and Financial Support

The fee to take part in Guys and Dolls is £195, to be paid in full or in two instalments of £97.50 – the first instalment will be classed as a deposit to secure your place and must be paid by Friday 9 May unless a different arrangement is made with Janine.

Higher Education (University) students may be entitled to a reduced fee of £97.50, but must complete the Financial Support Form linked to below.

For families with more than one child taking part, there is a sibling discount. Please contact Janine to ask about this.

As ever, financial support is available for those who may have a genuine difficulty in paying the fees, but these places are very limited. There are some free bursary places and some assisted places which work out at £117 (a 40% reduction) – if granted an assisted place, this can also be paid in two instalments of £58.50. I am always happy to discuss any issues about payments and to extend payment deadlines if needed but I can't do that unless we have that chat.

Guys and Dolls - Rehearsal and Performance Schedule.

Subject to change so please keep checking your emails. You must be available for ALL rehearsals and ALL performances.

Please click here for all rehearsal and performance dates

Rehearsal notes:

It is imperative that participants attend ALL rehearsals relevant to them (please note, some rehearsals are for unlicensed or principal cast only. This will be confirmed closer to rehearsals). Failure to do so, without a valid reason in advance, will result in the participant being immediately replaced. Please be aware that the schedule is very tight and there will be inevitable changes made along the way, particularly once the Cast and Director start main rehearsals on MONDAY 4 AUGUST.

Please bring plenty of water and lunch/snacks to rehearsals- licensed children will not be able to leave the rehearsal or performance venue in breaks. Your attitude and attention to your health, fitness and wellbeing in this show is paramount if we are to produce a successful show. You must remain as fit and well (i.e. injury free) for rehearsals as you were at the audition. If you arrive on the first day of rehearsals with any kind of injury, you may need to be recast in elements of the show.

Participants must display a good work attitude, be punctual and must warm-up daily and cool-down at the end of each session.

Please do not drop your child off more than 15 minutes before the rehearsal is due to start; chaperones will be present up to 15 minutes before rehearsal start times. Please also be prompt when picking your child up after each rehearsal.

Performance notes:

All LICENSED children will be supervised by registered chaperones. During performances, please wait outside the stage door entrance on Drury Lane to collect your child. The young people will come out to meet you at this door and must sign in and out. Parents/carers are NOT allowed backstage.

Please check that you/ your child has their shoes, make-up, packed dinners, bottles of water etc. prior to and on arrival at the theatre.

In the event of illness, accident or backstage dispute, please report immediately to the theatre/chaperone. If you cannot make a performance, please contact us as soon as is practically possible.

Costume:

All members of the cast will have a costume to fit their character. We source as much as possible but sometimes ask you to provide the odd thing you might already have at home. We also ask that, where possible, you provide your own shoes. If this is something that you will have difficulty with please get in touch with Janine as early as possible.

EVERYONE will need suitable leotards/dancewear or underwear to wear under costumes as a base layer. The leotard/underwear should be flesh coloured and full covering. If you are unsure of what we mean, please ask in advance of the rehearsals.

Shoes:

Notes on shoes will be sent out when we have more information from our costume team.
